Adam Malofsky, PhD

Dr. Malofsky's life focuses upon materials technology opportunity environments and trends and subsequent opportunity identification, evaluation, assessment and finally, where logical, venture creation through to sales initiation and venture education.

 

A 25-year veteran of the performance chemicals, polymers and materials industries, Dr. Adam Malofsky has held numerous leadership positions in a variety of start-up opportunities, both private and within corporate America. Adam is known for identifying white space opportunities and then employing practical, high speed, value oriented development strategies that frequently allow for the successful commercialization of new technology platforms, not simply evolutionary improvements.

 

Dr. Malofsky has extensive experience in managing start-up efforts in product materials, processing and assembly with far ranging experience in industries from aerospace adhesives to shelf life products for fresh cut produce. Adam was most recently Chief Executive Officer, Chief Innovation Officer and a Founder of Sirrus, Inc., formerly Bioformix, Inc., a venture backed energy efficient, advanced manufacturing polymer platform company initially focused in adhesives within a $500 billion opportunity.

 

Adam was also President and Principal of ABM Associates, LLC, a 16 year old materials innovation company responsible for such breakthroughs as Liquid Bandage and Dermabond medical adhesives, D’Addarrio’s musical instrument string technology as well as the 2006 NSPE best new product Nexicor Kool Glide Induction adhesive system for carpet installation.

 

Adam received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh in 1987 and an MS in 1988 and PhD in Polymer Science from the University of Connecticut in January, 1991.
